Jury Day for the Student Show is this Friday, June 11, from 8:30am to 12:30pm and we need SCRIBES! For those of you who have never been a scribe, I must tell you that I have found this to be one of the most valuable experiences in the entire program. Each landscape architect juror is assigned a couple of scribes who follow them around and record their comments as they evaluate projects in the show. You get to be a fly on the wall and hear how professionals in the field talk about others’ work and what they think of what we are doing. You also learn tips about what works and what doesn’t, and learn how to frame your projects so they can be understood by people who don’t know exactly what went on in each class. You will also get a free breakfast and lunch, so it’s really a win-win all around.
Send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org ASAP if you are interested – there are a limited number of slots, and this is an opportunity you don’t want to miss!
See you Friday,
President of SCASLA at the
UCLA Extension Landscape Architecture Program
