As mentioned in a previous post, our Capstone presentations took place earlier this month. Ten program students presented their Capstone presentations as their final project for the Landscape Architecture Program here at UCLA Extension. Present at these presentations were family, friends, fellow classmates, program instructors and jurors who are mostly landscape architects from local Los Angeles Landscape Architecture firms. One juror at Saturday’s presentations was Sam Hall Kaplan, a contributing writer for Architect’s Newspaper, the Planning Report, and Planetizen, and who has spent much of his time as a urban designer and planning strategist. Among other endevours, Sam has a blog called City Observer, we are honored that he felt compelled to write a short post on his experience as a juror at the Capstone presentations as well as his comments about UCLA Extension’s Landscape Architecture program as a whole.
